There is a train, a link bus, taxis and rideshare (a car with a driver booked through an app, such as Uber). The train costs A$3.50, with no surcharge for being the airport, and takes about 20 minutes from Airport Central. From terminals T3 and T4 you first have to take a bus to Redcliffe station.
We could not check the Perth Airport website, so its information is not here. The train information comes from Transperth, the public network, and was seen on 5 November 2026. The city is in the Perth page.
What are the options and how much do they cost?
There are three, listed in alphabetical order, without ranking them:
| Option | Adult price | Journey time | Times |
|---|---|---|---|
| Taxi | Unconfirmed | Unconfirmed | Unconfirmed |
| Train | A$3.50. Free on Sundays with SmartRider or contactless | 20 to 22 minutes from Airport Central to Perth | See below |
| Rideshare | Unconfirmed | Unconfirmed | Unconfirmed |
How do you get to the train, depending on the terminal?
It depends on the terminal of your flight. Transperth explains it in its November 2026 guide:
- T1 and T2: the Airport line stops at Airport Central, linked to both terminals by a walkway, the Skybridge.
- T3 and T4: you have to take bus 292 to Redcliffe station, three minutes away, and continue by train. Transperth says Redcliffe is 15 minutes from the centre.
Transperth describes the 292 as a free service for people travelling between T3 and T4, and says it runs every 12 minutes at peak times and every 15 the rest of the time and at weekends. It does not make clear whether the stretch to Redcliffe is also free.
The line runs from High Wycombe to Claremont via Perth station.
How much does the train cost?
It costs the same as any trip on the network. Transperth says there is no surcharge for going to the airport and that the Go Anywhere fare is enough, which lets you travel across the whole network for three hours. These are its prices, in force since 1 January 2026:
| Way of paying | Go Anywhere |
|---|---|
| Cash or contactless payment | A$3.50 |
| SmartRider with 10% discount | A$3.15 |
| SmartRider with 20% discount | A$2.80 |
- Contactless payment: Visa and Mastercard are accepted, also on a phone. You must tap on and tap off with the same card.
- SmartRider: this is the Transperth card. It costs A$20 and comes with A$10 of credit. It is sold at its offices, and one is at Airport Central.
- Sundays: travel is free with SmartRider or contactless payment, from the first service to the last. What leaves after midnight on Saturday does not count.
- Daily cap: with SmartRider or contactless, the day's spending is limited to the DayRider fare, A$7.
What time does the train run?
These are the times from Airport Central towards Perth, according to the latest line PDF we could open, in force since 13 October 2025. Transperth announces service changes on 1 November 2026 without making clear whether they affect this line:
| Day | First train | Last train | Frequency |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monday to Friday | 5:30 | 00:05. On Friday night, also 00:35 and 1:20 | Every 12 or 15 minutes until 21:05, then every 30 |
| Saturday | 6:20 | 1:20 | Every 15 minutes most of the day, and every 30 from 20:05 |
| Sunday and public holidays | 7:35 | 00:05 | Every 15 minutes most of the day, and every 30 from 20:05 |
On that timetable, the journey from Airport Central to Perth takes 20 to 22 minutes. Some of the last trains of the night terminate at Perth station.
Once in the centre, CAT buses are free and run every 5 to 15 minutes, depending on the route, day and time.
What do we know about taxis and rideshare?
We know who operates, but not how much it costs. Tourism Australia, on a page from August 2024, says there are taxi ranks and rideshare areas in front of each terminal. It lists Swan Taxis, 13cabs and Black & White Cabs, and for rideshare, Uber, Ola and GoCatch.
That page also gives a journey time, but we do not use it here because it is not from the airport or an operator, and it is from 2024.
What have we not been able to confirm?
Everything the airport itself publishes is missing:
- Price and journey time of taxis and rideshare, and airport charges. They are on its taxi page, which we could not check.
- Where they are picked up now. On 2 November 2026 the airport published a notice about changes to T1 access because of its new transport hub, P1. We could only see the title, so the pick-up points may have changed.
- Current train timetable. It is the one from October 2025, and Transperth has changes from November 2026.
- Which terminal each airline uses. We could not check this on the airport website.
What comes after the airport?
Next is usually somewhere to sleep and a phone. These guides cover it:
