There is a train (Airtrain), bus, shuttle, taxi and rideshare (a car with a driver booked through an app, such as Uber). The Airtrain takes 20 minutes to the centre and an adult pays A$23.30. A taxi costs A$67 to A$82, plus a A$4.86 charge.
Everything was seen on 5 November 2026 on the airport's or the operator's website. The airport page was last updated on 8 July 2026. The city is in the Brisbane page.

How does the Airtrain work?
It is a train with its own fares that links the two terminals with the stations in the centre. It runs every 15 minutes at peak times and every 30 the rest of the time. At weekends and on public holidays it runs every 30 minutes.
There are three prices for an adult to the centre:
- General price: A$23.30, according to the airport website. Children up to 14 years old travel free, with conditions.
- Advance online booking: Airtrain offers adults a 15% discount and publishes A$19.18. It does not apply if you book on the same day. That page says it was up to date on 10 February 2025, and 15% off A$23.30 does not give A$19.18. The figure may be old.
- Two adults or more: A$17 per person, if the group travels together for the whole journey. You buy it beforehand, online or at an Airtrain station. It also says it was up to date in February 2025.
Both offers are valid "until further notice" and are not refunded on or after the day of travel.
Stations included: South Brisbane, Roma Street, Central, Fortitude Valley, Bowen Hills, Albion, Wooloowin and Eagle Junction.
Go card: it also works on the Airtrain. The initial purchase for an adult is A$35 at least: A$25 of credit and A$10 deposit.
The 50-cent fare from Translink, the Queensland public network, does not apply to the Airtrain.
Is there a public bus?
Yes, route 590, although it does not leave from the terminal door. It leaves from the Skygate Centre, which you reach from either terminal. It runs 7 days and connects with the train network at Toombul.
The airport website gives no times or price, and refers readers to Translink. Translink applies a flat fare of 50 cents on buses in South East Queensland, but does not say until when.
How does the shuttle work?
It is a Con-x-ion service that drops you at the door of your destination, in many areas of Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast. You book on its website or at its desks in each terminal.
- International terminal: the meeting point is at the visitor information desk.
- Domestic terminal: outside, in the front area, towards the Virgin side.
Its home page advertises the trip to central Brisbane from A$20, with a note: the fare is calculated for 2 adults.
How much does a taxi or rideshare cost?
The airport estimates A$67 to A$82 per trip to the centre, and about 20 minutes outside peak hours. A A$4.86 charge and tolls are added. There are covered ranks open 24 hours in front of both terminals, with 13cabs (13 22 27) and Black & White Cabs (133 222).
For rideshare, the airport lists Uber, Didi, Ola and Shebah, with the same A$4.86 charge:
- International terminal: on level 2, the exit is at the end of the building, behind The Coffee Club, down the ramp.
- Domestic terminal: on the central roadway, on both sides of the Skywalk, crossing two pedestrian crossings.
What have we not been able to confirm?
These details are missing:
- Current Airtrain advance-booking price. Its offer pages are from February 2025.
- End of the 50-cent fare. Translink gives no date.
- Times and journey time of bus 590. We have not opened its timetable on Translink.
- Price of a rideshare. None of the websites we opened publishes it.
