Counted work: crop and livestock farming, construction, fishing and pearling, tree planting and felling, tourism and hospitality in the north and in remote areas, and disaster recovery, each in its own areas (LIN 22/013). The guides we checked say there is no cap. On 17 September 2026 Australia's Minister for Home Affairs announced a ballot with 45,000 second-visa places. According to RACC, as of 26 October Home Affairs had not published dates or rules. The age limit also applies to this application. |

The guides we checked say there is no cap. The ballot announced on 17 September 2026 plans 5,000 third-visa places. According to RACC, as of 26 October Home Affairs had not published dates or rules. The age limit also applies to this application. |
| Status | Paused as of 3 November 2026, according to Gate Migration (third party). It was listed as paused on 3 July and on 26 August, and was not on the open list after the official update of 12 October, according to other websites. |
What else should you know?
According to Tern Visa, Home Affairs cites Brazil and Spain as high-demand cases when explaining the pauses. Pvtistes also listed it in January 2026 among the agreements under negotiation.

What we could not confirm
- Cap and status are not confirmed on the official source. We could not check the Home Affairs page 'Status of country caps' (immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/what-we-do/whm-program/status-of-country-caps), or a saved copy of it. According to third parties, that table can take up to 48 hours to update.
- Pvtistes (January 2026) lists it both with a cap and among the agreements under negotiation. The reason is not explained.
- The rules require sufficient funds, with no figure. The AUD 5,000 figure appears in the official checklist for China (March 2026), on the Australian Embassy in Indonesia page (2021-22), at Tourism Australia (2023) and in independent guides, and these sources add the cost of the departure flight. We could not check the general Home Affairs page to confirm it for this country.
- English notes: independent guides only. The official checklist for China of March 2026 no longer gives notes and refers to Home Affairs, which we could not check. The December 2024 checklist gave higher scores for PTE (30) and TOEFL iBT (32).
- The 3 and 6 months are in the Migration Regulations (clauses 462.218 and 462.219). The 88-day count comes from Tourism Australia (2023) and independent guides. LIN 22/013 is on the register with April 2025 as its latest version.
- Whether the second- and third-visa ballot has moved on since 26 October 2026, the date of the last source we could check (RACC). We could not read the ministry's official announcement.
- We could not check the Australian embassy page for this country.
