• Skyrail Rainforest Cableway

  6 Skyrail Drive, Smithfield, to Kuranda

  A 7.5 km cable car over the rainforest, with stops at Red Peak and Barron Falls and A$111 return. It runs normally from 4 November 2026, and from July to November 2027 the final section will close for works.

  Cairns station to Kuranda

  A historic train that climbs to Kuranda through the rainforest in about 90 minutes, passing several waterfalls. In Heritage class, a return costs A$87; these fares are valid until 31 March 2027.

  Wangetti, about 40 minutes from Cairns

  A wildlife park with crocodile shows, koala talks and a boat ride on a lagoon. Open every day except Christmas Day and the day of the Cairns Ironman, because of the road closure.

  A small Australian wildlife park with koalas, wombats and wallabies. Open daily from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm.

  A park with an amphibious vehicle through the rainforest, the Pamagirri Aboriginal cultural experience and a wildlife area. Open daily from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.

  Mena Creek, 120 km from Cairns

  A historic garden built by a Catalan immigrant and opened in 1935, with a castle, staircase, tunnel and hydroelectric power station. Open daily from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, except Christmas Eve and Christmas Day; price valid until 31 March 2027.
